Welcome to Explore

Surely there is grandeur in knowing that in the realm of thought, at least, you are without a chain; that you have the right to explore all heights and depth; that there are no walls nor fences, nor prohibited places, nor sacred corners in all the vast expanse of thought.

Robert Green Ingersoll

We recognise the necessity to prepare our learners for life in an ever changing world outside of school, and do not take this responsibility lightly.  The Explore curriculum is not just concerned therefore with imparting knowledge, but rather places emphasis on skills and attributes that will help them to become adaptable, life-long learners.

To this end we endeavour to instil in our learners self-confidence, self-motivation, empathy, collaboration, independence and problem solving skills.  These are at the centre of our curriculum, encouraged and celebrated through the positive working relationships between teachers and learners.

The learning area staff come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience, but all share a common goal: to provide outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for our learners.  Our vision is to be outstanding in everything we do.

Improving the learning experience within Explore will always be a high priority.  We aim to achieve this via the implementation of programmes of study that suit our learners, employing a wide range of innovative and increasingly varied teaching styles.
