Welcome to Visual & Performing Arts

We recognise the importance of the decision to select a school for your son or daughter that fully caters for their needs and offers them the opportunity to reach their full potential.  Exciting and vibrant, the Visual & Performing Arts Faculty offers students consistent, high quality teaching, a diverse range of courses at key stage four designed to meet their needs, and opportunities to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities and projects.

The focus of the faculty is preparing students for a career in the fields of visual & performing arts as well as giving each and every student a set of life skills that are transferrable to every aspect of their daily life, now and in the future.

Mission Statement

The faculty aims to identify and nurture the extraordinary abilities, talents and creativity that all children possess to enable them to flourish, experience success and fulfil their potential, in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Aims

We aim to help every student:

  • Realise their full creative, intellectual and academic potential
  • Develop and nurture self-esteem, skills and natural abilities
  • Motivate students towards independence in learning and everyday life
  • Take public examinations and prepare them for further and higher education or vocational training

The hallmarks of excellence:

  • Well disciplined students
  • A hardworking, but friendly atmosphere
  • Excellent standards of achievement
  • A wide range of curricular and extra-curricular experiences

Our faculty prides itself on having all of these things. We also recognise that our students need to be able to work with other people in a wide variety of situations. We continue to develop teaching and learning styles to accommodate all our students’ needs. Finally, to be successful adults, students are encouraged to develop a spirit of adventure and optimism.
