Designated Safeguarding Lead: Iain Parsons

Everyone is responsible for safeguarding. Winton must continue to be an academy where children’s welfare is promoted and timely and appropriate safeguarding action is taken for children who need extra help or who may be suffering, or likely to suffer.

In a Nutshell:

1.     If you have any concerns at all no matter how small you need to speak to           Iain Parsons or Sally Chivers.

2.     After talking to Iain Parsons please complete a blue form.

3.     Our role is to educate students in keeping themselves safe and ensure               they have a significant adult in school they would go to if they had any               concerns about themselves or others.

4.     Always be vigilant and if in doubt ask for support and guidance.

5.     Never promise confidentiality to a student and explain you can't maintain           confidentiality.

6.     Ensure you keep yourself safe at all times.

7.     Ensure you are aware of all the relevant policies including ‘KCSIE’ and the           ‘Code of Conduct and Whistle Blowing’ Policy.
